The portion of the course that focuses on information resources will help you learn to be information literate). The portion that focuses on writing will help you to improve your writing. I hope you enjoy working through the course activities. They will guide you to explore information resources--both in libraries and on the World Wide Web--and to synthesis what you have read and apply it to writing problems/assignments.

This courses tries to do four major things:

1. to introduce you to a widely recognized method to successfully tackle information problem-solving tasks (such as college assignments);
2. to introduce you to a wide variety of information sources;
3. to review one good method for constructing a college research paper;
4. to have you construct a subject resource/reference guide for your specialization (major).

This is an "active" learning module. That is, most of the time you will be visiting the library, exploring resources and their content, and constructing a resource guide to help you in other classes, particularly in your academic major.
