ATTENDANCE POLICY     It is the English Department's policy not to allow more than 5 absences for a student in a sophomore literature class that meets two times a week.  Any student who is absent for more than 5 classes for whatever reason, including illness, will not receive credit for the course. 

GRADING POLICY     Your grade will be based as follows: (1) two exams--40%; (2) five-six page paper--20%;  (3) final exam--20%; (4) class participation (including arriving to class on time)--20%.

PLAGIARISM POLICY   Any student who plagiarizes exams or papers  is subject to failure in the course and possible expulsion from school. Be especially careful when you use the Internet.
