CEC Special Interest Group for Teacher of the Arts

This page contains a bit of history. It provides links to past “Learning Through the Arts” newsletters, no longer written due to duplicating and mailing costs. Communication has changed and this web-site can reach more people. Now, much of the information previously included in the “Learning Through the Arts” newsletter is conveyed in the NAEAnews bi-monthly “Special Needs” Issues Group columns and are more timely. The Spring newsletters had been mailed out before conventions to point out potential arts sessions and to describe presentations from the prior year. Past newsletters still provide references to the “Who, What, Where, When, and Why” of special education and arts presentations around the country. There is also information about groups and products featured at CEC and NAEA. Links to newsletters are listed below.

The Special Interest Group for Teachers of the Arts will continue to hold meetings at The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) annual convention. These meetings provide opportunities for special education presenters who focus on the arts to network with others with similar interests. CEC lists the meeting time and location for the Special Interest Group for Teachers of the Arts in the front of the convention program in the meetings and events section.
