community Engagement
Southern students, faculty, and staff are deeply committed to serving the New Haven community with a range of community service projects and events. FYE invites and encourages students to participate and helps connect them with service projects that interest them. Community Service projects include, but are not limited to:
- SCSU Service Team
- Southern Day of Service
- Adopt-a-Family Food Drive
- Toys for Tots
- The Big Event
- Girls and Women in Sport Day
- Jail 'n' Bail fundraiser for Special Olympics
- Freshman Backpack Project
