Re: Advising and Registration for Fall 2008

It is almost time to register for courses for fall 2008!  In order to make sure you are prepared to register, please read the following document carefully, and contact the FYE office if you have any questions.

Registration for all first-year students begins at 6:01 a.m. on April 21, 2008.  Instructions for how to register on bannerweb are available here

Before you register, you must first meet with your advisor and secure your PIN #, needed for registration.  You should be contacting your advisor in the next week to set up an appointment.  If you are unsure how to contact your advisor, the following information should help:

First-Year students who have declared a major or would like to pursue a major:

Contact an advisor in the academic department of your major.  A list of advising contacts for each department is attached to this email.

First-Year students who have not declared a major:

  • If you had an FYE 101 course in fall 2008, please contact your FYE instructor (students of Profs. Olney and Hernandez should contact Jan Jones in the FYE office @ 392-6671)
  • If you were in the LINKS program, please contact the LINKS instructor who has been assigned as your advisor
  • If you did not have an FYE 101 course and were not in LINKS in fall 2008, please contact Academic Advising @ 392-5367.

The more prepared you are for your advising appointment, the more likely you are to get the information and courses you need. Before meeting with your advisor, please take the time to look up, print, and review your degree evaluation on banner web.  Instructions for how to look up your degree evaluation can be found here.  Bring a printed copy of your degree evaluation with you to your advising appointment.
