Present: Claire Novosad, Adam Abugri, Kathe Barret, Rachael, Vaters-Carr

We discussed credit hours, especially in regards to the issue of variable credit hours for internships and independent studies, as UCF is to come up with guidelines for departments. The eventual recommendations are not meant to restrict departments, but to serve strictly as guidelines.

We acknowledged that there is a lot of variability in the types of classes and experiences different departments offer, and determined we needed more information before proceeding. It was agreed that Claire N. would look at the CSU system to see if there were any guidelines at other universities, Adam A and Rachael V-C. would look the the DOE guidelines, and Kathe would look at departments within the university. We will all report our findings at the next NPIC meeting and proceed from there.
