V. New Business - Alternative General Education proposals
• Each presenter gave an outline of possible revisions to the LEP for consideration by the body.
• Several discussion points for each are listed below:
f. Dr. David Levine and Dr. David Pettigrew recommend that the LEP program:
• Provide a transition between AUR and LEP; AUR classes can substitute for LEP classes for the first two years.
• Remove the technological fluency competency to avoid an overload of classes.
• Combine FYE with critical thinking.
• Allow students to start tier 2 courses when the prerequisites for those courses are met, not just when tier 1 courses are complete.
g. Dr. Troy Paddock and Dr. Byron Nakamura
• Expand the Links program to encompass three of the first four semesters.
• Students' courses would be linked within the semester but not across the semesters.
VI. Old Business
