V. Ad hoc report - GETF - Jim Tait

Old Business - Discussion Q & A regarding implementation of LEP - Jim Tait, Polly Beals

Discussion centered on reminding departments to spend time reviewing how the LEP will possibly alter the program's major.  Departments will need to review: degree evaluation, identify courses that are now AUR that majors rely on as either prerequisites or requirements, and identify how those courses will be available in the new program (will they be Tier 1? 2?).  Several members mentioned that courses that freshman currently take will probably not be Tier 1 courses.
K. Cummings suggested that a site be created listing: each AUR that has been transitioned to the LEP and the mapping of the courses that most of our students will take (it was created last year, but should be posted with the new course information).
P. Beals requested that UCF members inquire of their department chairs/DCC committees about courses that are either ready to transition or that will be new courses in the LEP so that all members of the university will be informed.
Questions were raised about when students would be ready for Tier 2 courses (by spring of freshman year for some of them), and how many Tier 1 courses will be ready for fall.

VI. New Business - no new business
VII. The meeting was adjourned at 11:05 am.

The minutes respectfully submitted by Kathleen Rondinone.
