Minutes September 17, 1998

Present: Ellen Budris, Debbie Emmelman, Bonnie Farley-Lucas, Peggy Gallup, Jim Granfield, Martin Hartog, Lynn Kohrn, Cynthia McDaniels, Pima Palma, George Puershner

Secretary
Jim Granfield agreed to serve as Secretary this year.

Review and approval of minutes
Minutes will be submitted to members by e-mail. Members will contact the secretary if they have any comments of changes. Members will vote on the minutes at the beginning of the UCF meeting.

New UCF forms and directions
The committee reviewed and modified the new forms and directions, for new and revised courses and revised programs.

The committee voted to send the forms to the full UCF for approval. (10-0)

Evaluation of NMC and UCF
The committee discussed the importance of a timely evaluation NMC and UCF. This issue will be raised in the UCF.

Communication Major Proposals
The Communication Department has submitted proposals to revise the B.A. and B.S. in Communication. Bonnie Farley-Lucas presented some background information on these proposals, and discussed their content. The committee did not review these proposals at this time.
