NMC Action of pending curriculum proposals

Old Business

ENG Program Revision

Dana Sonnenschein came to address NMC questions about the proposal, raised on 10/14.

George Puerschner made a motion to accept the proposal; Joe Fields seconded. The vote was unanimous in favor of the motion. The English Department will submit a form with a few minor revisions.

BIO 467 Laboratory Courses in Biotechnology - New Course

Sarah Martinelli and other members of the Biology Department came to address NMC questions about the proposal, raised on 10/28.

Jon Bloch made a motion to accept the proposal; George Puerschner seconded. The vote was unanimous in favor to the motion. The Biology department will submit a form with a few minor revisions.

CMD 419 Language Acquisition: School Age-Adolescence - New Course

Peggy Gallup reported on questions the committee, had about the course raised on 10/28.

Cynthia McDaniels made a motion to accept the proposal; seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous in favor of the motion. Peggy Gallup will ask the Communication Department to put the revised catalog description on the proposal.

New Business

HIS Program Revision

The NMC raised questions about the revision will effect teaching students' curriculum. Cynthia McDaniels will make inquiries.

The NMC also agreed that the UCF Steering Committee address the issue of lab hour credits for students, which at present appear to be inconsistent from one department to the next.
