Minutes April 12, 2001


Present: Jon Bloch (chair), Kathy Mauro, Nancy Disbrow, Vince Breslin, Beena Achhpal, Dan Soneson, Bonnie Farley-Lucas

A discussion was held about on-line courses.  A separate document lists these questions.

Discussion took place over the following 3 nursing courses.

  • NUR 460 Advanced Concepts in Nursing : Need clarification on a new catalogue description, as well as whether or not the prerequisites have changed.   Outcome:  B. Farley-Lucas made a motion and B. Achhpal  seconded it that we accept the course revision with minor changes. B. Farley-Lucas then rescinded the motion and B. Achhpal her second that it be tabled until we have further clarification on pre-requisites
  • NUR 462  Health Assessment for RN-BSN Students: Catalogue description  needs slight revision. The pre-requisites possibly are different. from original, yet listed as unchanged. It was agreed to table for further clarification.
  • NUR 463  Concepts of Community Health Nursing: Catalogue description needs change for clarification of meaning.   It was decided to table for further clarification.
      
  • JRN 260 & ANT 260: Discussion took place and it was decided that the pre-requisite should read " 1 course from Social Science B requirement". Also, the bibliography and minor typos needed corrections. V. Breslin made a motion and it was seconded by B. Farley-Lucas  to accept ANT 260 with correction. Unanimously passed. Bonnie made a motion and it seconded by Dan that we accept JRN 260. Unanimously passed.
     
  • Major in English:  #4 rationale should be cleaned up (the question marks and comments in margins).  The wording on the CPR should be corrected to say "Appropriate Seminar". N. Disbrow made a motion and it was seconded by B. Farley-Lucas  to accept the changes with corrections. Unanimously passed.
