Present: Beena Achhpal, Jon Bloch (chair), Vince Breslin, Joe Fields, Bonnie Farley-Lucas, George Puerschner, Lisa Rebeschi, Dan Soneson

Proposals:

  • ART 220 (Painting Media and Techniques) course revision involved the addition of a prerequisite (ART 150) 

Outcome: G. Puerschner moved to accept the proposal pending a clarification of the departmental vote. V. Breslin seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

  • EXS 275 (Foundations of Experiential and Adventure Education). This was a new course proposal 

Outcome: Several relatively minor problems with the proposal were noted.  G. Puerschner made motion to accept the proposal pending resolution of these points.  B. Farley-Lucas seconded.  Unanimously approved.

  • EXS 480 (Motor Learning and Development).  This was a revision to an existing course. 

Outcome: The proposal was referred back to the contact person because it lacked a rationale statement.

Other:

We discussed the question of whether dissenting opinions (e.g. in the case where there are votes against a course or program revision within the department) should somehow be attached to the proposal.
