Present: B. Achhpal, J. Bloch, K. Burke, R. Cretella, R. Glinka, W. O'Brien

1)Program Revision, B.S. Communication (Specialization in Creative Message Construction)

K. Burke made a motion to accept. B. Achhpal seconded. Motion passed 5-0-1.


2)Program Revision, B.S. Communication (Specialization in Video Production)

W. O'Brien made a motion to accept. R. Cretella seconded. Motion passed 5-0-1.


3)Discussion of UCF Flow of Proposals

A discussion of the Flow of Proposals was led by J. Bloch. The following issues and suggestions were discussed:

  • Overall, the sense of the committee was favorable for the current system.
  • A visual flow chart should accompany the written Flow of Proposals to improve understanding of the process and timelines.
  • The current system is somewhat confusing and should be clarified.
  • NMC is valuable because it shifts some workload away from the UCF as a whole.
  • A copy of completed course proposals and course revisions should be returned to the department at the end of the process.
  • Combine the Course Proposal and Course Revision Forms since most new courses will result in a Program change.
