Notifications Management Committee (NMC)
Minutes of 4/22/04

 
Present 

K. Burke, B. Butera,  J. Fields,  C. S. Kim, G. Kowalczyk,  K. Mauro, M. Vancour.
 

I.    Proposals 
      Proposals for review today included:

  • REC 300, 400, 321 and 391
  • JRN BS
  • MGT 403 / WMS 403

 
The REC courses had been considered previously and returned to their proposer for technical corrections (e.g. not all of the form fields were typed).  The chair stated that he would oversee further corrections (e.g. still not typed) for getting these proposals ready for archiving.  Subject to that, a motion was made and seconded to approve these courses en masse.  The motion was approved unanimously. (6-0-0)

The proposal for the Journalism BS was discussed at great length.  Ultimately, the intent of the department was not clear to the committee.  A motion was made to return the proposal to JRN for clarification.  The motion was approved unanimously.  (6-0-0)

The new course proposal for MGT 403 / WMS 403 also spurred a lengthy discussion.

In the final analysis, the committee had many questions for the proposer, so a motion was made and seconded to return the proposal to have these issues addressed.  This motion was also carried unanimously. (6-0-0)

II.    Motions

Persuant to the above, the NMC brings the following motion to the UCF:

  • "That the course revision proposals for REC 300, 400, 321 and 391 be approved."

III.    Adjournment

The meeting adjourned at 10:45 a.m.
