- CSC program revisions
- ART program revisions
- ENG 492
- PSY 463
CHE 301 is a new course proposal for a 1 credit course, "The Preparation of Scientific Documents for Chemistry." K. Mauro moved its approval, J. Manzella seconded. The vote was 6-0-0 in favor.
The three Chemistry programs (BA, BS and BS with certification) had program revisions involving adding the new course CHE 301 as a requirement. The chair suggested that these three program revisions be considered as a unit. J. Manzella moved for their approval, with R. Glinka seconding. The motion was carried 6-0-0.
CSC 431 "Computer Graphics" is a course revision proposal involving a renumbering (formerly this course was CSC 385) and slight changes to the course description. G. Kowalczyk made a motion to approve the revision. R. Glinka seconded the motion. The motion carried 6-0-0.
CSC 481 "Artificial Intelligence" is a course revision also involving a renumbering as well as a title change (formerly it was CSC 365 "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence"). A motion to approve was made by R. Glinka and seconded by K. Mauro. The vote was 6-0-0 in favor.
The Computer Science department also submitted 2 program revisions. The first was a revision to the Computer Information Systems (CIS) program which would add ACC 370 "Accounting Information Systems" as a required course. K. Mauro made a motion to approve and B. Butera seconded. The motion passed 6-0-0.
The second CSC program revision involved both the CIS and the General programs. The revision is to add BIO 104 to the Natural Sciences A list within the AURs. B. Butera moved for approval, with G. Kowalczyk seconding. The motion was passed 6-0-0.
We next considered a program revision from the Art department involving the Studio Art major and specializations in Ceramics, Graphic Design, Jewelry/Metals, Painting, Photography, Printmaking and Sculpture. The proposal updates and clarifies requirements of Studio Art majors and sets a minimum GPA for courses within the major. A member noted that the statement under "Other" on the proposal form was much clearer than the statement given on the revised CPR sheets. K. Mauro moved to approve the proposals pending changes to improve the clarity of the CPR form (as per the previous sentence). G. Kowalczyk seconded the motion which carried 6-0-0.
ENG 492 "Teaching Literature to Adolescents" is a new course proposal. A member noted that, as the proposal indicated that this course will be required in an English specialization, a program revision will be necessary. K. Mauro moved for approval, with J. Manzella seconding. The motion was passed by a vote of 6-0-0.
PSY 463 "Field Practicum in Psychological Research" is a new course proposal. R. Glinka made a motion to approve, with C. S. Kim seconding. The motion was carried 6-0-0.
