Notifications Management Committee Minutes
November 4, 2004 (revised)

Present:   Karen Burke, Gregory Kowalczyk, Nancy Disbrow, Jane Feng,Roy Hunter, Troy Rondinone, Kathy Mauro

The committee met and discussed the following proposals.

1.) Minor in English: Literature; Minor in English: Creative Writing; Minor in English: Professional Writing

A little discussion took place about the changes in the 3 minors listed above. The minor in English was changed to minor in English: Literature and requires upper division literature courses. They also created 2 new minors in English: Creative Writing and Professional Writing.  Karen made a motion and Greg seconded it to accept. It passed unanimously.


2.) FLA 403- Introduction to Second Language Acquisition-A discussion took place about the course being a 400 level course and not having any pre-requisites. Also the course description needed some changes. Rich made a motion and Troy seconded it that the course be approved with the changes. It passed unanimously.


3.) FLA Program Revision- The committee discussed that if the changes were made to the FLA 403 then the program revision would be approved. Rich made the motion and Trot seconded to accept change.  It passed unanimously.

 
4.) PCH 430- Health Promotion Priorities- There was an omission on the page with old prerequisites (junior status). Nancy made a motion and Karen seconded it that we approve the course with the correction. It passed unanimously. 


5.) SOC 490- Seminar in Sociology- Nancy made a motion and Roy seconded it that we approve the change to the prerequisites. It passed unanimously.

 
6.) SOC 495-Departmental Honors-Nancy made a motion and Roy seconded it that we approve the prerequisite changes. It passed unanimously.


7.) SOC 497- Sociology Internship- Nancy made a motion and Troy seconded it that we approve with the prerequisite changes. It passed unanimously.


The committee discussed the possibility of meeting with UWIC and NPIC for our next subcommittee meeting to see if we can discuss the "criteria" document.


The meeting was adjourned at 10:30
