Notifications Management Committee Minutes
September 23, 2004

 
Present:   Karen Burke, Rich Glinka, Gregory Kowalczyk. Michele Vancour, Nancy Disbrow, Lynn Kohrn, Jane Feng and Roy Hunter

I.  Proposals

  • BS & BA Biology programs: A discussion was held and Jane Feng indicated that the changes on the CPERS for CHE and MAT be ignored since they since have been omitted from the proposal. Karen made a motion to pass and Greg seconded it. The motion was approved unanimously. (7-0-0)
  • ANT 214/FLA 214/PSC 214-American Tongues: Everyday Politics of Speaking -Nancy made a motion to approve the new course and Karen seconded. The motion was approved unanimously (7-0-0). It was recommended that communications consider cross- listing.
  • ANT 374/FLA 374/WMS 374 - Language, Gender, and Sexuality - Nancy made a motion to accept and Karen seconded it. The motion was approved unanimously. (7-0-0)
  • MGT 403/WMS 403- Women's Multidisciplinary Entrepreneurship- was not approved. Roy motioned and Lynn seconded and all were in favor  8-0-0 (Troy Rondinone joined at this point). Decision was for the course to seek approval from IRB- related to posting interviews on a website.


Joe Fields had sat in on the discussion, but the vote was taken after he left.

 

Joe Fields had stopped by to ask the committee if it would consider developing criteria for which proposals are reviewed and accepted. The Committee agreed to look at the guidelines on-line as a starting point.


II.  Motions
 

Pursuant to the above, NMC brings the following motions to the UCF:


1.      "That the course ANT 214/FLA 214/PSC 214 be approved"

2.      "That the course ANT 374/FLA 374/WMS 374 be approved"

3.      "That the program revisions to the BS and BA programs in Biology be approved"
