Discussion

The NMC By-laws were discussed briefly. Several issues were raised:

  1. Since the work of the sub-committees is governed by UCF by-laws, might subcommittees require only operating procedures?
  2. R. Glinka suggested that for Revised Program Proposals, proposers attach a copy of a degree evaluation that highlights what the program looks like both before and after the proposed changes.
  3. It was recommended that each subcommittee include instructions, for example required documentation, on each form.
  4. It was suggested that any proposals returned to proposers also be copied to the DCCs and SCCs; currently revisions flow from the proposer directly back to the NMC.

The L to W course transition timeline was also briefly discussed.

Motions:

1. Motions to approve the following Revised Program Proposals:
    a. Recreation & Leisure Studies (1)
    b. Recreation & Leisure Studies (2)
    c. Media Studies

The meeting was adjourned at 10:45 a.m.
