Guests: Deborah Weiss (UCF Chair), Rachel Vaders-Carr (Ad hoc Forms Committee), Gary Morin (SCC Chair- School of Education)

Meeting called to order at 9:45 am

Distribution of Proposals:

Anthropology
1. Revised Course Proposal: ANT 214

Mathematics
1. New Course Proposal: MAT 326 Regression Analysis
2. Revised Program Proposal: BA Mathematics
3. Revised Program Proposal: BS Mathematics

Discussion:

The SCC Chairs were invited to discuss the Flow of Proposals and changes to NMC forms. A review of forms ensued which led to a variety of questions. These included:
1. the charge of NMC, specifically, whether NMC reviews content (it does not)
2. the roles of the DCC and SCC (these bodies do review content for new courses)
3. how the department or DCC vote is counted (this led to a discussion about the need for departments to review by-laws)
4. the need (or not) for a bibliography as part of a new course proposal (needed at the department level but not at other levels?)
5. a move to electronic forms and what that entails
6. tracking proposals
Although those present covered a lot of ground, many new questions arose, highlighting the need for ongoing conversation.
