  • Discussion was held about Checklist and New Programs Forms with consideration for approval
  • Following significant dialogue as to whether to add signatures and dates to the check list, the committee agreed unanimously to approve forms as they were presented with the following suggestions:
  • A "date submitted line" is suggested to include the date a new program is submitted on the New Program Proposal Form
  • As the forms were carefully examined, it was also thought that the general format could be altered to assist usability (e.g. the problem with blank lines when using the on-line form. It is understood that Susan Tiso is presently working on this.)
  • For Checklist (p.2) edit recommended from "to fulfill the proposal" to "to implement the program proposal"
  • Issue of minor addressed - 18 credits minimum, 24 credits maximum
Minors developed within departments will be examined prior to tackling minors cross-departmentally
  • Charge will be to write policy for new minors within departments and to standardize the practice of implementing minors
  • A draft of present conceptualization of a minor within a department will be prepared from the SCSU Course Catalogue to be used as a springboard for the committee's review and discussion for the next New Programs Meeting
