New Programs Subcommittee

Minutes 10/19/00

Present: Troy Paddock- Chair, Mark Spence, Charles Wieder, Kathleen Skoczen, Leon Yacher, Joy Fopiano, Pat Hawley - recorder

Special Topics ENV 498 - Understanding Pollution Problems has been received.

New Program in Anthropology

The checklist was reviewed and updated.

Dr. Richard Gerber wrote a letter indicating financial support of the proposed program.

The three revisions were successfully completed:

• The rationale has been successfully expanded and attached to the UCF New Proposal Form.
• Technical problems with the CPR forms were rectified
• Cognates were successfully updated

7 in favor, 0 abstentions

Additional notes:

• Appendices will be made available to UCF members upon request.
• Checklist moved to second page followed by the rationale.

The committee also briefly discussed request for evaluators from each of the subcommittees of UCF for the SCore program.

UCF Steering Committee would like the various committees to clearly define their responsibilities. Clarifying the purview of NPIC will be expedited by contacting Dr. Jos Ullian.
