Small talk about summer vacation and welcoming Chris Lukinbeal, who is taking over Leon Yacher's duties as GEO representative to UCF

The Majority of the meeting centered on a discussion of an FLA proposal: Elementary Education/Bilingual Education Dual Initial Certification program.

There was enthusiastic support for the proposal, but some questions about how the program would accommodate students who were not coming into the program bilingual. There was also a desire for clarification of how a student would be "confirmed" bilingual.

There was also a question about the course rotation. One of the three courses will be offered every other year, while the other two will be offered every year. There was a concern about potential backlog.

The Committee also felt that since Prof. Kate Reynolds has resigned her position at Southern CT State University, she should be removed from the proposal for it was clear that she would not be the Assistant Coordinator.

The was a brief discussion about the coming agenda for NPIC which will include looking at interdisciplinary minors with an eye towards formalizing that procedure in the same manner that it formalized the procedure for the creation of minors last semester.
