Minutes of NPIC, subcommittee of the UCF

November 20, 2003 (amended)

Members present: Charlie Dellinger-Pate, Robert Eldridge, Clare Novosad, Wes O'Brien, John Sullivan, Chuck Wieder

• 
  discussion began about a motion for the UCF on logging the info from various committees....perhaps a model like the Senate
• discussion on "gate-keeping" the Special Topics Courses, Bob Drobish and Christine Stanton might be asked how to help here, what's being done now to monitor STC in terms of how often in has run....three is the magic number
• discussion on by-laws for sub-committees pursued
  
• discussion on definition of Special Topics Courses, what is out there for procedures, is it on the web page clearly? are departments/DCC informed on procedure? Bob Eldridge offered an initial STC procedures draft and we agreed to e-mail additional suggestions for discussion/editing next meeting
• as a committee we accepted the following Special Topics proposals:

ART 298-Figurative Sculpture and COM 298-Copywriting for Electronic Media

ANT 398-African Prehistory
