ART 298 - General Crafts (Para. Cohort)
Basic skills, techniques and applications are explored in the materials and processes of studio crafts, such as weaving, macramé, leather, rug making, stitchery, mosaics, enameling and assemblages. Studio content has been modified to introduce a range of studio methods for early childhood teacher preparation students who are in the paraprofessional cohort group. Not for Art Education credit.
MAT 298 - Topics in Statistics
A second course in statistics, focusing on categorical data analysis and design of experiments. The course is meant to be a continuation of a statistical class, which covered statistical inference. The class will focus on applying statistical procedures to analyze categorical data and design of experiments. A software package is required.
MDS 298 - Contemporary Media Debates
This course will explore contemporary media debates that affect media consumers, media educators, media producers, media organizations and media policy makers.
MDS 298 - Race & Class in the Media
Issues of power related to race and class are examined vis-a-vis economic and cultural implications of mass media representations.
MDS 398 - Television & Postmodern Irony
Since the death of irony after 9/11, American television has seen a resurgence of cultural satire and postmodern irony. This course uses the study of contemporary network television for exploring postmodern cultural theory and a critical study of the American way of life.
