ART 398 - History of Russian Modernism
Explores Russian and Soviet painting, architecture, stage design, book illustration, propaganda art, industrial and graphic design ca. 1860-1960. Concentrates on the emergence and development of Russian Symbolism, Neo-Primitivism, Cubo-Futurism, Suprematism, and other avant-garde movement.
FIN 398 - Practicum in Investing
Operation and management of the SCSU student run portfolio investment program funded by the SCSU Foundation.

HIS 398 - Hunters and Gatherers
History of Hunter-Gatherers in Africa using non-traditional sources, including archeological site plans, oral traditions, word histories, etc.
HIS 298 - Ancient Israel
A survey of ancient Israel from its tribal beginnings in Canaan through the period of monarchies of Israel and Judah, the Babylonian Exile, and the Second Temple Period. Topics include the emergence of monotheism, prophecy, and the influence of Mesopotamia, Egypt, and the Greco-Roman world, as well as the origins of Christianity and Rabbinic Judaism.
HON 298 - Project Burma: The Pedagogy of Displacement
This course will involve research and lively discussion about refugee education. Each student will contribute well-researched to the high-school education of students in Ban Mai Nai Soi, a Karenni refugee camp of displaced Burmese people.
ITA 398 - Holocaust Perspectives
The course will explore the Holocaust from the perspective of Italian writers.
JRN 398 - Online Journalism
Intensive practice in online journalism where student will learn to create online multimedia news packages for an online audience.

This course will explore contemporary media debates that affect media consumers, media educators, media producers, media organizations and media policy makers.

Baseball in NYC (1946-1961), its impact on business, government, and society.
PSY 298 - Pursuing a Major in Psychology
An introductory survey course for student majoring in Psychology.
SOC 398 - Sociology of Education
Examination of developments, issues, and empirical research in the field of sociology of education.
THR 498 - Auditioning for the Theatre
All aspects of the auditioning process for professional theatre. From contrasting monologues and call-backs with cold readings, to a standard of musical theatre audition, students will be participating in mock auditions within a workshop setting. Students will be required to create headshot/ resume and attend at least one professional audition before the end of the semester.
THR 498 - Dance Composition and Performance
The instructor will present choreography to the student for performance. The students will also have the opportunity to create and develop their own choreography.
B. Some discussion on reworking the new Special Topics Notification Form, particularly the instructor's signature, which seemed to be an area of slight confusion. This will be addressed at a future meeting along with paralleling the direction sheet to the new form.
