Description of logged courses
ANT 298 - The Global Community
Examination of globalization processes and the impact on community, cultural identity, socio-economic institutions, environment, indigenous populations and human rights.
ECO 398 - Environmental Economics
This course applies microeconomics to environmental issues. Topics include exteenelities, climate change, markets for pollution, sustainability, regulation, natural disasters, and long-run macroeconomic effects of environmental ?????, and cash-benefit analysis.
ITA 398 - Contemporary Italian Culture
This course continues to refine student' oral and written skills in the target language while enhancing awareness of major social and cultural trends of contemporary Italy. Topics such as contemporary politics, popular culture, film, economy and gastronomy are introduces through the examination of authentic texts and a variety of media. Specific emphasis is placed on written skills, providing students with the necessary foundation for continued study in Italian.
THR 298 - Beginning Modern Dance
Introductory course in the art of Modern Dance utilizing the techniques of Graham, Limo, Cunningham, and other dance pioneers.
THR 498 - Auditioning for the Theatre
All aspects of the auditioning process for professional theatre. From contrasting monologues and call-backs with cold reading, to a standard musical theatre audition, students will be participating in mock auditions in front of invited industry professionals. Student will be required to acquire a headshot/resume and attend at least one professional audition before the end of the semester.
II. Old Business
A. New Minor Program Proposal in Film Studies
NPIC continued discussion about the proposed minor in Film Studies. NPIC read the responses from MDS regarding our first set of questions and comments, and are requesting additional information before voting on this minor. Excluded from our minutes are the e-mails in which MDS is notifying all departments included in the Film Studies minor. NPIC will vote to approve this minor on May 6th and bring it to UCF for a vote on May 13th.
