Program Review and Assessment Subcomittee
September 13, 2001 Minutes

Present:  C. Coron (chair), A. Kumar, R. Page, W. Shyam

Chair's summary:

Meeting began at 11:00 AM with the above members present (Dr. Durwin had a scheduled class; Dr. Gelbach had a previous commitment).

The subcommittee discussed its agenda for the coming semester, deciding on a limited course of action pending input from the Administrative Assessment Office.  PRAC members agreed to invite Dr. Gerber to meet with the subcommittee to discuss the assessment calendar and to come to a consensus as to how PRAC members may assist departments currently under review.  We agreed to committee to an oversight schedule, which would be mutually convenient.

Members suggested pursuing last semester's idea of establishing a web page to assist departments prior to initiation of and during the assessment process.  Rob Page volunteered to begin construction of such a web page  .He also agreed to look into the possibility of constructing an interactive web-based tutorial for assessment.  The chair agreed to compile electronic documents from PRAC and from the Administrative Assessment Office to place on PRAC's general web page.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:15.

Post - meeting:  Dr. Gerber agreed to meet with the subcommittee at a mutually agreed upon time; he was unable to attend the next subcommittee meeting on 9/27.
