During the 2003-2004 academic year, PRAC members actively participated in the SCSU assessment effort, attended several national assessment meetings, and organized a number of meetings to provide a platform for the assessment dialog. The members continued to invest significant amount of time in analysis of current and alternative assessment models, with the goal of defining a process that will be attractive to SCSU departments and administration.

We finish this academic year with the list of accomplishments:

PRAC members attended a number of national assessment conferences and workshops
2003 AAHE assessment conference, Seattle, WA
Assessment Workshop "Demonstrating Quality through Assessment", Worcester, MA.
"Campus Connections 2004" - CSU System Assessment Conference, New Haven, CT
These events helped PRAC members to have a closer look at successes at other institutions and provided a plentiful of networking opportunities. Some of the conference contacts were invited to visit SCSU campus and share their expert opinion. (B. Wright, G. Bermudez)

PRAC established a closer contact with the new SCSU Assessment Coordinator - Dr M. Kennedy. Dr. Kennedy attended majority of PRAC meetings with the goal of establishing smoother flow of information.
PRAC members participated in the planning and organization of the "Campus Connections 2004", a CSU System Assessment Conference. Some of the activities were: conference planning, "Table Topics" facilitation, and compilation and distribution of a CD with websites summaries.
PRAC organized a number of meetings with the goal of broadening the assessment dialog. Some of the successful meetings were with Dr. B. Wright and Dr. M. Kennedy.
PRAC participated in monitoring the assessment process. The flow of information established between PRAC, Dr. M. Kennedy and Dr. E. R. Beatty helped this effort.
PRAC has continued to collect data about other assessment models, in order to define and suggest alternative models that might be more attractive to SCSU departments and be satisfactory for the administration. This process included: conference participations, gathering Internet resources and defining benchmarks. PRAC expects this work to continue into the next academic year.
PRAC has been given a website space. In order to provide some content to the website, PRAC members collected all electronic material that was developed by its members. The work on the website is expected to continue into the next academic year.

Future goals:

PRAC members will continue their efforts in trying to identify a workable model that will guarantee faculty involvement and satisfy administration requirements. In order to hear the opinions of SCSU community, PRAC plans to support the assessment dialog. PRAC efforts in this direction will continue.
PRAC will continue with the web-site development, with links to assessment related documents.
PRAC plans to develop an assessment grant proposal. The final focus of the proposal is to be determined.
PRAC would like to thank UCF members for their support.
