PROGRAM REVIEW AND ASSESSMENT COMMITTEE                    
 
Minutes of: May 5th 2005

Present: K. Cummings, R. Mugno, H. Podnar (co-chair), E. Schmitt, W. Shyam.

Started: 10:10am

The meeting started with a short report about the "Campus Connections 2005" assessment conference. Members shared material and experiences from the event. At the end of the conference, the announcement was given about the availability of assessment-related faculty grants under the CSU's "Learning, Assessment and Improvement Grant Program".

A short discussion followed about the release time (research, assessment) and how departments cover the 'released' teaching load. If the faculty is asked to teach during the 'release' period a possible overload occurs. No conclusions were made.

PRAC members reflected on the activities during the current academic year. Members expressed their satisfaction with this year's accomplishments and expressed their interest in serving as a PRAC member for the next year.
