PROGRAM REVIEW AND ASSESSMENT COMMITTEE

Minutes of January 26th, 2006

 
Present: J.Fields, C.Coron(co-chair), C.Novosad, R.Mugno(co-chair), H.Podnar, E.Schmitt, W Shyam.

Started: 10:00am

UCF chair, J.Fields joined the meeting, and suggested to PRAC to pursue an active role in defining language for evidence based student assessment that might be suitable for the standards document. PRAC members believe that the assessment language should be faculty-driven, and will look into it. Coordination with the UCF standards Ad Hoc committee could be beneficial.

PRAC will contact Dr. Kennedy and Dr. Williams, to gather more information about the current direction and vision related to the assessment of SCSU programs.

A short discussion about the up-coming UCF discussion about the role of the School Curriculum Committees and their ability to introduce additional criteria followed. 

PRAC series of assessment workshops continues this semester with an already planned session for March 8th, and negotiation for the second one.
