PRAC Minutes for Thursday March 9, 2006

Due to some scheduling conflicts we had a very small meeting.

We discussed the workshop presented by PRAC and the Office of Assessment conducted on Wednesday March 8, 2006. Liz Keenan from Social Work gave a talk concerning how her department is assessing their majors, who are in their senior year. After the talk, a lively question and answer session ensued with the 15 or so faculty in attendance. Questions raised in the discussion that were continued at the PRAC meeting. The questions concerned the reliability of assessment measures. We also discussed the difference between goals and outcomes and problems of setting learning outcomes such as requiring certain testing methodology.
