Present: C. Coron (co-chair), K. Cummings, C. Novosad, R. Mugno (co-chair),

H. Podnar, E. Schmitt, W. Shyam.

Started: 10:00am

Mugno reported on meeting with Marianne Kennedy, the assessment coordinator for SCSU. M. Kennedy could not make this meeting but plans to attend future meetings. She informed PRAC that there will be a NEeAN conference at Connecticut College on October 28. Members Coron, Podnar and Shyam will attend the conference.

The committee then discussed getting volunteers for assessment workshops. Dr. Martin Hartog of the mathematics department expressed interest and will be formally invited to present on either October 26 or November 9.

The discussion then turned to outcomes language for New Course Proposals. Questions that arose were:

What is the status of outcomes on New Course Proposals?

Should learning outcomes be included on syllabi?

How to bridge the gap between assessment and teaching?
