University Wide Impact Committee Minutes

Call to Order:  9:45

Review:  This was first meeting of the Spring 2001 semester.  Reviewed last meeting of fall semester and issues covered.  Noted that UWIC members Polly Beals and Connie Mindell are on sabbatical.  Noted that currently there are no proposals up for review, but should be expecting at least one from Earth Science within  a couple of weeks.

Report on CPRs and Catalogs:
Harris presented a second draft of a flow chart for addressing issue of CPR forms and Catalogs.  Restated issues as follows:

1. Discrepancies often found in departments' CPR forms and Catalogs.
2. When such discrepancies are noted, they still are not always corrected.
3. The course schedule book sometimes contains incorrect information and/or conflicting information with the Catalog or CPR form, the Catalog and CPR forms.

After discussion on the many aspects of the charts and the best way to address the problem , the committee decided that it would implement some additions to the flow chart, design a sign-off page, and a sample proposal that could be used to wind its way through the system so the department can better gauge the pros and cons about the proposed new way to address this problem, and thus design a proposal to present to UWIC.

The flow chart addresses the CPR and Catalog issue.  Question raised as whether the flow chart should address the Course Schedule book to ensure it is consistent with the CPR form/Catalog.  Harris to find out who does course schedule book.
