University Wide Impact Committee Minutes
Thursday, October 19, 2000
University Student Center, Room 207

Present: F. Harris (Chair), Rosalyn Amenta, Polly Beals, Connie Mindell, Sandy DiFrancesco, Marty Hartog, Radhika Nandlal, Kathy Swenson
Recorder: Frank Harris

Call to Order: 9:38

Approved amended minutes of Oct. 5 meeting.

Approved request to forward Exercise Science 380L -- Sports Psychology -- for review and approval by the Writing Board. (The committee reviewed letter from Susan Tiso regarding request from Jim Tait to forward Exercise Science 380L directly to Writing Board. The course is already approved as an L course but Exercise Science, according to the letter, would like to be reviewed by the Writing Board for approval.).

Approved revision of nine CPR forms submitted by Shirley Jackson of sociology/anthropology, pending the following:

1. Confirmation that MUS 115 is indeed being kept as an AUR. (The chair of that department says it should not be deleted).

2. Confirmation that HIS 240 and 247 be included as AUR rather than deleted. (Bruce Kalk, the chair of History says these were approved as AURs).

3. Confirmation that PSY 101 will not be listed as an AUR. (Fatima Hetata says it should not be. The course no longer exits. Include PSY 100 instead).

4. Confirmation that MAT 178 should not be deleted. (It should be added as an AUR per Leo Kucaynski of the Math department.)

5. A brief line or two describing why SHE 290 was added and SHE 400 deleted.

6. A letter from Pat Rukowicz, chair of School Health, acknowledging the addition of SHE 290 and deletion of SHE 400.

7. Findings on whether Exercise Science courses EXS 341, 342, 343, 344, 345, 346, 347 should indeed be deleted from Jackson's CPR forms.

Sought and received approval from Notification Management Committee that UWIC can forward Jackson's proposal to UCF.

Approved Roz Amenta's recommendation that UWIC ask UCF steering committee to
consider request that revised CPR forms for each department be placed university's web site.
