I. Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 9:40am.

II. Old Business

No old business was on the agenda
 
III. New Business

The standing committee discussed the topic of a new Honors course designation (HON 494), whose purpose would be to allow students to write a prospectus for an honors thesis and also function as a pre-requisite for HON 495.

The standing committee then considered the topic of undergraduate minors.  In particular, the standing committee considered how a more formalized process of declaring a minor would help departments track their minors.  Also discussed were ways with which departments could identify students with enough credits to be potential minors.
