Writing-Across-the-Curriculum Committee (WACC)
April 23, 2009

Present:  D. Carroll (ex-officio), S. Corbett (ex-officio), V. Breslin, S. Ellis, N. Marano, K. Marsland, D. Petroski, K. Lacey, T. Ferrucci (ex-officio), D. Smith

1. Meeting called to order at 9:15

2. W-Course Proposal Form Revision
 • Change to 11 copies required for proposal submissions
• Box 1 change course code to department code
• Keep box 2 "other departments affected by.."
• Add faculty signature
• Box 4 date reviewed by WACC and decision
• Add section to guidelines with instructions for resubmissions to include proposal cover sheet and letter explaining revisions and completely revised proposal
• Need to locate procedures document and incorporate appropriate changes. Kate will follow-up on this
3. Summer W Course Policy - reviewed with minimal revisions; K. Marsland will submit to Donna Jean and the Dean's Council for comments.
4.  Updates from D. Carroll
D. Carroll attended Regional WACC Meeting focusing on evaluation of WACC programs. Suggestions for evaluation of our program discussed. Will be further developed with plan to integrate into June 2009 Teaching Academy
5. Volunteers needed to work with small groups during last day of Teaching Academy (June 4, 2009). D.  Carroll will email committee with request.
6. K. Marsland requesting members let her know if they wish to continue on committee next year. Members to contact her via email.
7. Distribution of proposals for next meeting:
• Art 398  History of Russian Modernism
• Art 398  Art and Revolution
• ENG 329  Modern British Poetry
