4. Independent and Internship Study W-Proposals
Kate pulled the motion for UCC to approve the Revised Independent Study and Internship W-Proposals due to the need for clarification.  A justification page for W credit was added.  A revision was made regarding the approval process. The paperwork to request W credit for Independent Study will go directly to the Dean for approval. The Dean will then pass the proposal to the WAC Director for notification.
For Internships, clarification will be made that approval will be on a case by case basis.  Approval of an internship does not apply to an entire course.  Paperwork will go directly to the WAC Director.

A motion was made and seconded to approve the above revisions to the Revised Independent Study/Internship W Course Proposal.
The motion was approved 7-0.

5. Future business
• Kate encouraged the committee to post recommendations for the revised forms on the Wiki by the end of the semester.
• The writing contest will need to be addressed in the spring.  In lieu of having the entire WACC judge the contest, Kate suggested having 2 WACC members and soliciting judges from the W faculty and students.
• Dave reported he has put course decision criteria on Wiki and he encouraged WACC members to add their comments to the list.  The Wiki website is:     SCSU-WAC.wetpaint.com

6. Meeting adjourned 11 a.m.

Respectfully submitted
