5. Updates:
• WACC will be attending the Chairs' Council meeting on April 2nd, during which time representatives will address how Southern's WAC guidelines compare to similar schools and highlight recent survey data about writing-intensive courses at Southern
• D. Carroll introduced the new WAC logo.
• D. Carroll noted a potential problem with the 1,000 word minimum for the Writing Contest.  We will qualify this word minimum next year, perhaps by allowing more than one paper for a total of 1,000 words.
• D. Carroll noted a question about students who wish to transfer W-courses into Southern.  Further discussion is needed.
• D. Carroll and Mark Heidman have put together a questionnaire for faculty about W-course guidelines.  After feedback, D. Carroll will revise and send to the committee before submitting to all faculty.
• D. Carroll, K. Marsland, and others are finalizing speakers for the summer Teaching Academy.

Meeting adjourned at 10:55.
Respectfully Submitted, Scott Ellis
