1. 9:40 Call to order and distribution of agenda
2. Kate asks if we have a quorum for voting. We did not but had no business that required a vote.
3. Update from Interim Director: Practical Pedagogy workshop on rubrics was very successful and was well attended. Debby has requested a computer for the WAC office but is still waiting for one to be allocated. Update on process for distributing proposals. We need proposals a week ahead. The student worker will pick up from UCF and log them into our data base before distributing them to committee members. All new proposals will be distributed in one packet the week before our meeting. Student worker will help ensure that proposal tracker is current. Debby announced that Scott Ellis will take over as interim director next year but cannot assist with credits this spring due to teaching schedule. This leaves 3 uncovered credits in the spring. Discussion ensued as to who could help cover the 3 credits of work in Spring 2010.
4. Update on W program assessment: Debby distributed a report on the WAC faculty survey from last year. Overall positive. Discussion about how best to disseminate the results (e.g., at UCF, Chairs' Council, etc.) ensued.
5. Update from Writing Center Director: Writing Center is filled to capacity. Tom is turning people away on a daily basis. Suggestion to start trying to document how many students are being turned away.
6. Update from Chair: Distribution of WACC membership list. Kate asked that members update the semester in which they started on the committee. Update on revision of proposals reviewed at last meeting: COM proposal will be resubmitted at a later date. Kate met with N. O'Conner to assist with ART 303 revision, which should be submitted by end of semester. WAC Director has been added to LEP Committee as an ex officio. Talk of WAC's role in the LEP program. WAC timelines are on the UCF website now. 11/19 deadline confirmed.
7. WACC by-law revisions: Revising via the WAC wiki.
8. World Languages Ws: Need to look at core WAC document as to whether there are any specific guidelines.
9. Distribution of new proposals:
