As a member, you are supporting our efforts to collect and preserve materials related to African/African American history and culture and to celebrate that history and culture.

It is intended that the materials and the Society's activities will lead to a greater understanding of people of African descent and their history and culture.
                            
Anyone who shares our goals is welcomed and encouraged to become a member whether they are active or not.

Annual membership is from July 1st of the current year through June 30th of
the next year.

Meetings

Board meetings are usually held quarterly, the second Saturday of the month, with the exception of special and makeup meetings. There is at least one general meeting a year. Information about our meetings, e.g., venue, time and date are announced in the quarterly newsletter.

The location may be at the Ethnic Heritage Center, 270 Fitch Street in New Haven, or at another place of our choosing.

Members who wish to attend the general membership meetings, are asked to call ahead.
