Admissions HouseSouthern Connecticut State University is a part of the Connecticut State University System (CSUS).  The system is the largest public university system in Connecticut and consists of four comprehensive universities with more than 35,000 students and 180,000 alumni.

Southern's sister institutions are Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic, and Western Connecticut State University in Danbury.
