NEASC Reaccreditation
In the fall of 2011, SCSU underwent its ten-year comprehensive evaluation by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). This required the submission of a Self-Study Report that analyzed SCSU's effectiveness as a teaching and learning institution and assessed the extent to which we met each of eleven standards for accreditation.
On July 2, 2012 SCSU received notice that the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education took the following action with respect to the university: that Southern Connecticut State University be continued in accreditation and that the next comprehensive evaluation be scheduled for fall 2021. Other actions taken included that SCSU submit a report for consideration in spring 2014 and that SCSU submit a fifth-year interim report for consideration in the fall 2016.
