A Semester in Nicaragua

"While there, my friends wanted to hike one of the volcanoes, which I was strongly opposed to. However, I was outnumbered and we began our hike. As I stood at the bottom, looking up at the billowing volcano, I knew I would never make it to the top. I just knew that I could never make it up there. Four hours later, I was at the top, looking across the lake towards the mainland, completely in shock that I had made it this far. This
experience, while unique in its own way, was repeated hundreds of times during my stay in Nicaragua. I knew I couldn't do something; I tried, succeeded, and was blown away by my own abilities."
