Students in the field. Peru 2008

Southern students who excel in Bioarchaeology and Human Osteology have the opportunity of working with Dr. Valerie Andrushko in her Peru research. Located in Cuzco, this summer project provides hands-on instruction in data collection from human remains, identification of paleopathological conditions, and documentation of cultural modification such as cranial deformation and trepanation. Students engaging in this summer research will earn six credits to fulfill their internship requirement. This fieldwork opportunity also includes visits to such well-known Inca sites as Machu Picchu, Sacsayhuaman, and Ollantaytambo.
