CIS Program Objectives and Learning Outcomes

CIS Program Objectives 

The educational objectives of the CIS program are as follows:

  1. Graduates will be able to analyze, design, implement an evaluate computer based solutions.
  2. Graduates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the global and local societal impact of computing, including professional, ethical and social responsibilities.
  3. Graduates will be able to communicate, collaborate and present computing solutions using current technology in an effective and professional manner.
  4. Graduates will be able to engage in continuing professional development and life-long learning. 
  5. Graduates will be able to support the delivery and management of information systems.
  6. Graduates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of management and business practices in information technology.

Graduates of the Computer Information Systems program will:

  1. analyze a computer based solution in software and hardware,
  2. design a computer based solution in software and hardware,
  3. implement and evaluate a computer based solution in software and hardware,
  4. demonstrate an understanding of the local and global societal impact of computing,
  5. demonstrate awareness of professional, ethical and social responsibilities related to computing,
  6. communicate effectively (written & oral),
