About Professor Talhelm
As a former high school English teacher, I specialize in training students to become middle and high school English teachers. I serve as coordinator of the Secondary English Education Program and work with student teachers during their semester teaching in local schools. My interests include the intersections between teacher and artist, the presence of the arts in the classroom and reading pedagogy at the secondary level. I’m also a singer-songwriter interested in the craft and form of lyric composition.
