Publications and experience

Cindy Simoneau is the former assistant managing editor of the Connecticut Post where she is currently a consulting editor and internship coordinator. She has advised CTTeens, the only high school newspaper journalism project in Connecticut, for more than 15 years. She was editor of the daily "Woman Wise" section and a bureau chief reporter at the Post before that. After receiving a B.A. degree at the University of Rhode Island, Simoneau began her career as a reporter for the Newtown Bee. She is a freelance writer and editor.   She has been an active member of the Connecticut SPJ chapter, serving more than 30 years on the Board of Directors, including several terms as president,  immediate past president and treasurer.  She now serves as the chair of the Region 1 Conference committee for SPJ. She is a member of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, and is membership chair and secretary for the Small Programs Interest Group. Simoneau is a former adjunct professor of graduate and undergraduate journalism studies at Quinnipiac University, Fairfield University and Sacred Heart University.
