PUBLICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Paul Singley has been a reporter and editor full time since graduating from Syracuse University with a master's degree in 2004. He has covered presidential primaries, investigative stories and professional sporting events. He has also covered municipal government, education, police and human interest stories in Connecticut. He was a reporter for the Republican-American of Waterbury for seven years before launching the Oxford Patch hyperlocal online news site in the fall of 2010. Singley has returned to the Republican-American to report and work with reporters on multimedia reporting. He has received several journalism awards, most recently for his coverage of the Sandy Hook School shooting in 2012. He is an adjunct professor in the Arts and Humanities Department at Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury and is president of the Connecticut Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
