Minors and Concentrations in Psychology

Many students choose to pursue a minor in Psychology. Additionally, Psychology is a popular concentration for students pursuing a major in Interdisciplinary Studies.

General Minor in Psychology:

  • PSY 100, Introduction in Psychology
  • Five other courses (15 credits) in Psychology at the 200- or 300-level, from the following:  PSY 210, 215, 219, 220, 227, 228, 259, 298, 306, 318, 320, 321, 361, 366, 370, and 398.

PSY 303, 311, 313, 383, 393, and all 400-level courses have additional prerequisites (PSY 259 and PSY 300), but they can be included in the minor with the instructor's permission.

Note for IDS majors:  If PSY 100 is fulfilling your LEP Mind & Body requirement, it can't also count toward the minor.  You can either take a sixth course in Psychology, or else take another course that fulfills Mind & Body.
