All candidates will be assessed as they progress through the certification program. These assessments are designed to determine if a candidate has progressed at a satisfactory level to move on to the next stage. Most Gate assessments are aligned with coursework. The Gate assessments are as follows. (A more detailed rubric is included in the appendix.) 

Gate I      Acceptance into the School of Education, EDU 201

Gate II     EDU 413 (undergraduate), completed science courses/Praxis II (graduate)

Gate III    SCE 490 - Science Methods

Gate IV    SCE 494/6 - Student Teaching/Seminar - completion of the program
